This new edition focuses on Tackling Complexity in Health & Medicine. The registration is now open! To register, please click here: link    The VPH Summer School series is co-organized by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and by the Virtual Physiological Human Institute (VPHi). It provides junior engineers, early researchers and medical doctors with a complete overview of state-of-the-art Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) research for In Silico Medicine, following a complete pipeline from basic science and clinical needs, to model application. The training includes 15 morning lectures plus one honorary VPH lecture, given by leading international researchers. Speakers details are available here.  The key methodological and technological concepts are enriched during the whole week by five afternoon hands-on sessions in multiscale modelling, physiological modelling, computational systems biology and machine learning that stand for 15.5 hours of transversal training in in silico medicine technologies, under the supervision of expert researchers. The last afternoon of the VPH Summer School will host a round table co-organized with QUAES, gathering patients, physicians, researchers and public authority representatives to discuss on In silico Medicine and new medical technologies for the society: Awareness, expectations and effective capacity. We are delighted to invite you to join us at the upcoming 11th BSRT symposium!   Regenerative medicine promises to functionally heal tissues and organs previously thought irreparable, by stimulating the body’s own repair mechanisms. But what exactly has been accomplished by this young branch of translational medicine which was only just defined in the 1990s? Are these promises still hypothetical or are they on their way to becoming clinical reality? In this year’s symposium, experienced scientists and physicians will not only describe their clinical trials, revealing what has been achieved so far in the development of tomorrow’s personalized medicine, but also talking about possibilities for future clinical translation. Speakers will present the latest diagnostic tools used to predict the healing potential of patients, as well as new regenerative therapies to combat various diseases. In addition, they will show how rehabilitation approaches are tailored to the individual needs of the patient. Early-career scientists still ‘at the bench’ doing basic research will also have the opportunity to present their projects and discuss ideas with the potential to reach the clinics. This year, we looked for inspiration from great thinkers of humanity and decided to let ourselves be guided on this journey by quotations from ancient philosophers. They strove in their own ways for enlightenment and truth to further the well-being of humankind, just like we do in the field of regenerative medicine. Due to the Corona Pandemic, the 11th BSRT symposium will be a face-to-face event for early career scientists with online keynote lectures given by international experts (Hybrid Symposium). However, in the event of another major lockdown in December, we will organise the event as a full online symposium. Dear Colleague,
This is the first-call-for-participation to the Advanced International School on Imaging, Modelling and Simulation in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology that we are organizing in the beautiful city of Rome on February, 24th-28th, 2020 (Italy).

The school has been endorsed by the ESB and members of the Society will receive a reduction on the registration fees.

The School will instruct on the importance of a rigorous and multidisciplinary approach for the effective translation of biomechanics models into the clinical practice. Six internationally-outstanding invited lecturers have been selected for covering topics that span from imaging, through theoretical biomechanics, up to computational biomechanics and mechanobiology: Vikram Deshpande, Christian Gasser, Daniel Hurtado, Bruno Quesson, Zohar Yosibash and Alessandro Veneziani.

Classes on basic notions in the morning will prepare attendants to lectures on advanced topics in the afternoon on a wide range of applications.

One session will be dedicated to talks from participants and one day will propose a series of Advanced seminars.
