Dear ESB members,
The purpose of this email is to encourage you to become part of the Mentoring program of the European Society of Biomechanics and to introduce you to the new Mentoring platform developed. The tool has been designed as a commitment to facilitate mentoring relationships and promote academic and personal development of our early research community. The new mentoring system allows you to select a mentor based on their capabilities, or become a mentor yourself by selecting the capabilities you can offer to junior members of the ESB – or both!
How to apply
If you are not registered in the mentoring program, please go to “Member login” and enter your email address and password. This will allow you to have access to “My ESB” and “Mentor page”.
Once you are in the “Mentor page”, select the areas in which you wish to offer mentoring and advice (for mentors) or the area in which you would like to receive support in (for mentees). These areas include: conference/course organization; grant support; international career; Move to industry; New PI; New post-doc; scientific networking; work-life balance. It is important to take into account that Mentors need to select areas that they can offer mentoring in first so that: Mentees can select mentors based on their skill base.
Please have a look to our flyer for more information on what mentoring is (ESB_Mentoring_program_intro), as well as a to the guide for more specific guidance to use the tool (Getting_started).
Let me know if you need additional information. Best regards,
Esther Reina-Romo
