At the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bonn, a
W2 Professorship for Oral Technology
is to be filled at the earliest opportunity.
The future holder of the position is to represent Oral Technology within research and teaching. The professor assumes the task of managing the section of the same name within the Center for Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine. The duties of the advertised position include maintaining and expanding the interdisciplinary scientific structure. An interest in research questions within oral medicine, knowledge of orofacial biomechanics, numerical analysis, methods within artificial intelligence and modeling or materials science, above-average motivation and flexibility, and an excellent capacity for teamwork and willingness to cooperate across disciplines are required. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish and apply for a collaborative project for university dentistry with an interdisciplinary orientation and a thematically focused research program.
Networking with the key areas of research at the clinics of the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine, University Hospital Bonn and other faculties of the University of Bonn is expressly desired, whereby particular attention must be paid to the use of cognitive systems within a clinical context. Scientific excellence should be demonstrated through appropriate high-quality publications and the acquisition of third-party funding. It is expected that the applicant will be fully involved in teaching at the center. Managerial experience and the ability to cooperate and work in a team are required.
The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in natural science, engineering, dentistry or medicine and have a habilitation or evidence of equivalent academic achievements. Experience in teaching in accordance with section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW) is preferable.
