Dear Subscriber,
The ESB Council has some open positions, and it is a great opportunity to contribute to the shaping of our society!
David Mitton and Jérôme Noailly have both completed their two full terms, and thus must step down, after 8 years of service. Ilse Jonkers, who served on the Council for 4 years, decided not to stand for re-election. Aurélie Carlier and Michele Conti have completed their first 4 years term, and intend to stand for re-election.
Hence, a total of five Council seats are up for election; the Council invites any regular member in good standing to candidate for a seat on the Council of our Society. As our Society considers gender equality as an important aspect in the life of our community, and women have been regularly in minority in the Council, we particularly encourage them to stand for these positions. We also welcome applicants who would widen our diversity, be that related to ethnicity, location, research field or other characteristics.
As a member of the council, you will take the lead in the activities of one of the committees (https://esbiomech.org/welcome-to-the-european-society-of-biomechanics-esbiomech/council/ – note that we are in the process of reshaping some of the committees so this list may change do not hesitate to contact the President for more information), contribute to in-person biannual council meetings (usually one in January, at the location of the congress happening 18 months later, and one just before the annual congress) and drive decisions impacting the work of the society. Being an ESB council member is a great opportunity, both socially and professionally, which vastly pays back the effort that such serious commitment requires.
Here is an opportunity for you to engage and help to shape the future of ESB, and we very much look forward to receiving your applications for candidature.
