PHD CANDIDATE IN BIOMECHANICS (PREDOC) / LAB MANAGER

PhD Candidate in Biomechanics (PREDOC) / Lab Manager

Employment level: 32 hours/week

YOUR TASKS

  • Conducting a PhD project in biomechanics
  • Independent planning, execution and documentation of biomechanical studies in collaboration with (clinical) project partners in accordance with scientific quality standards
  • Design and manufacture of biomechanical testing equipment
  • Contributing to university teaching within the department
  • Management of the Biomechanics Laboratory at KL including placing orders, organising equipment maintenance, repairs and managing the stored biological samples
  • Supervision and training of project staff and students in the laboratory

YOUR PROFILE

  • A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)
  • Applicants already holding a PhD are not eligible
  • In-depth knowledge of biomechanical measurement technology (material and/or implant testing, including mechatronics and measurement data analysis)
  • Very good command of English. German language skills are beneficial but not required
  • Process-oriented, precise, structured approach to work with a strong ability to prioritise
  • Open-minded, resilient and flexible personality with a professional attitude

The minimum gross monthly salary for full-time employment (40 hours/week) is € 3.500,-, paid 14 times per year (minimum annual gross salary: € 49.000,-). Willingness to offer a higher salary depending on qualifications and experience.
