ESB2017 update – early bird registration open, pre-courses announced

ESB2017 update

The ESB2017 organisers are looking forward to welcoming you to Seville. More than 600 abstracts for regular and Perspective Talks have been received.

Confirmed plenary speakers are Ellen Kuhl (University of Stanford), Walter Herzog (University of Calgary) and José Manuel García-Aznar (University of Zaragoza).

Registration for the conference and for two exciting pre-courses is now open, with an early bird deadline of 5th May.

Early-bird savings are worth 50 Euros for students and 70 Euros for regular registrants.

Two pre-courses will run on 2nd July, each one with two parts:

Course A: Modelling and Simulation of biological tissues and regeneration.

A1: Modelling of tissue regeneration (Morning)

A2: Modelling the mechanical behaviour of soft tissues (Afternoon)

Course B: OpenSim workshop.

B1: Basic Course – Data processing (Morning)

B2: Advanced Course – Muscle-driven simulations and optimal design.

ESB2017 will be held at the Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville. The building is located in the so-called “Isla de la Cartuja” (Cartuja´s Island), actually a peninsula between two branches of the Guadalquivir River. This “Island” was the location of the 1992 Universal Exposition and the venue occupies the former Central America´s Pavillion, which was refurbished to host the School of Engineering.

The Technical School of Engineering is at 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre and this will be a good opportunity to discover this historical city. Also, the venue is next to an amusement park, “Isla Mágica”, so that families are welcome too. The weather will be sunny (guaranteed). Do not forget your sunscreen!

More information about the pre-courses, plenary speakers, registration, social program and other interesting points may be found on the conference website.
