Times of change offer opportunity, and changes are coming up in terms of the composition of the ESB Council.
Harry van Lenthe and Markus Heller have both completed their two full terms, and thus must step down. Mark Thompson, who served on the Council for 6 years, decided to step down as well. Enrico Dall’Ara and Dieter Pahr have completed their first term, and intend to stand for re-election.
Hence, a total of five Council seats are up for election; the Council invites any regular member in good standing to candidate for a seat on the Council of our Society. As our Society considers gender equality as an important aspect in the life of our community, we particularly encourage women to stand for these positions. Being an ESB council member is a great opportunity, both socially and professionally, which vastly pays back the effort that such serious commitment requires.
Here is an opportunity for you to engage and help to shape the future of ESB, and we very much look forward to receiving your applications for candidature.
How to apply
Those who are interested in standing for a ESB Council position should send their full length CV, complete the application form, and attach a small picture, all in electronic format, to the Secretary General, secretary.general@esbiomech.org, by the 25th April 2022. Candidates who already have a complete CV and a full publication list available on the web are encouraged to additionally provide us with the respective links.
Details of the candidates will be posted on the Society web site, available for all members to study; in this way, the information candidates provide on their application form will be made available to all voting members.
Voting will be by an on-line electronic process. We will send all candidates and members information about the opening of the ballot by mid-June.
Candidates with the greatest number of votes elected to serve on the Council will be announced by the President.
