ESB 2019: Call for Abstract Submission

Banner for ESB2019 conference in Vienna

Dear colleagues,

we are pleased to announce the 25th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB 2019) to be organized in Vienna, Austria on July 7-10, 2019.

ESB 2019 is jointly organized by Prof. Philipp THURNER (TU Wien), Prof. Dieter PAHR (TU Wien & Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences), and Prof. Christian HELLMICH (TU Wien). The congress itself will take place at the University of Vienna which is located in the centre of the city.

While Vienna is a city most commonly associated for its unparalleled contributions in music and the arts, it is also the home of several Nobel Laureates in Medicine as well as the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), which the oldest edition of its type in the German-speaking part of Europe. Therefore, it is perhaps not surprising that Vienna is a place where the biomechanics discipline is steadily increasing in activity and importance.

We are grateful that Prof. Mitchell B. SCHAFFLER (City College New York), Prof. Laurence VICO (INSERM, St. Etienne), and Prof. Wolfgang WALL (TU Munich) have agreed to deliver Keynote Lectures.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit their latest research for capturing and discussing the science at the forefront of biomechanics in a mix of oral and poster presentations. We are looking forward to receiving the most exiting work from scientists across all career stages and particularly welcome the submission of the outstanding research performed by students, which can also be considered for the prestigious ESB student award. Following the positive experience of the extended format introduced at the 2015 congress in Prague, established leaders in their domain are invited to submit an abstract for a “Perspective Talk”. This format allows senior researchers to give an overview or highlight key research on a congress topic.

Abstracts have to be submitted online through the congress website by January 31, 2019. Further information and templates are available at https://esbiomech.org/conference/esb2019/abstract-submission-to-esb-2019/guidelines/

REGISTRATION FOR PARICIPATION

The online registration for participation is already opened. Please see details at https://esbiomech.org/conference/esb2019/registration/

Further detailed information as well as information on sponsoring and exhibition can be found at http://esbiomech2019.org

We would like to take the opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. We are looking forward to receiving your contributions and to welcoming you at ESB 2019 in Vienna.

With best personal regards,

Philipp THURNER, Dieter PAHR, Christian HELLMICH
