Prizes and Honours for ESB 2019

The Huiskes Medal for Biomechanics – Nomination deadline 1 December 2018.

This award is given to senior researchers who have contributed significantly to biomechanics throughout their careers. The award is open to both members and non-members of the ESB, who must be nominated by at least two ESB members. For more information visit the Huiskes Medal page.

Best Doctoral Thesis Award

Application deadline 31 January 2019
Applications are submitted via email to the award chair. For more information, please see the best doctoral thesis award webpage.
All the Awards below are based on submission of an abstract to the yearly ESB congress. Each abstract can only be submitted for one award. All deadlines coincide with abstract submission deadline, 31 January 2019.

ESB Student Award

Four finalists will be selected to present and compete about the Award in a dedicated session during the yearly ESB Congress in Vienna. Please ensure you check the submission box during abstract submission and attach the additional required documents. For more information, please see the Student Award webpage.

ESB Poster Award

The ESB Poster Award is given at each ESB Congress with the purpose of raising the quality of poster presentations at the meeting. The selection is made during the Congress, by an Poster Award Committee. For more information, please see the Poster award page.

ESB Travel Awards

Around 20 Travel Awards will be awarded by the ESB for attending the WCB congress. Please ensure you check the submission box during abstract submission and attach the additional required documents. For more information, please see the Travel Award webpage.

Mobility Awards

The ESB Mobility award aims to provide young ESB members with financial assistance to carry out collaborative research in a foreign country as part of their PhD or early postdoctoral research. There are two awards available for 2019 on a competitive basis (deadline for application: 31 May 2019). This Award is managed by the Student committee. More information can be found here.
