Huiskes Medal – second and final call for nominations
This is the second and final call for nominations for the Huiskes Medal for Biomechanics, which will be awarded at the 23rd ESB congress in Seville, 2017. This award is the ESB’s highest scientific tribute, presented in honour of Prof. R. Huiskes, and awarded to senior researchers who have contributed significantly to biomechanics throughout their careers.
Candidate nominations in consideration for the Huiskes Medal for Biomechanics should include a 1-2 sided letter of nomination that highlights the candidate’s career achievements and contributions to biomechanics as well as a full publication list.
The deadline for nominations for the Huiskes Medal for Biomechanics is November 1st, 2016. Submit your candidate nominations to the Chairman of the ESB Awards.

ESB endorsed meeting: 3D Printing in Healthcare Conference
The 3D Printing in Healthcare Conference will be held at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, Netherlands on 20 – 21 October 2016. The conference aims at providing a platform to experts from hospitals, academia, and government institutions discussing the innovations, challenges, and future aspects of healthcare 3D printing technologies.

ESB endorsed meeting: 4th International Congress on Sport Sciences Research and Technology Support
icSPORTS 2016 (http://www.icsports.org) – 7-9 November 2016, Porto, Portugal. In the XXI century most human activities, including sports, are becoming more and more technological. Engineering in general and Information Technology in particular is becoming an important support for many activities directly or indirectly related to sport sciences, including improvement of physical activities, sports medicine, biotechnology and nutrition, sports management, and all imaginable application areas in sports. This congress intends to be a meeting point of both academics and practitioners, in order to exchange ideas and develop synergies.

Other meeting of interest: 6th Biot Conference on Poromechanics
The 6th Biot Conference on Poromechanics (http://biot2017.sciencesconf.org) will be held just outside of Paris, France, at École des Ponts ParisTech and IFSTTAR, from July 9 to July 13, 2017. The Biot conference is organized only once every 4 years and is the main international event for experts in poromechanics. All topics related to porous solids that deform and contain one or several pore fluids are relevant. This edition will be held as a tribute to Olivier Coussy (1953-2010), who was the first recipient of the ASCE Biot medal. Abstract submission closed on September 15, 2016.
