Churches, city walls, monumental merchant houses and big squares merge seamlessly. Maastricht is the perfect city for those who love fashion, art, design and gastronomy. A great variety of excellent restaurants and bars make it a very lively city, surrounded by beautiful nature, lovely hills, the iconic caves, and castles. The latter can be visited for exploration, to enjoy the beautiful drawings, or for mountain biking. The locals are friendly, open, embracing the \u2019joie the vivre\u2019. The city surely has a \u2018scientific vibe\u2019, housing a university, a university medical center, as well as the Brightland, Health &amp; Chemelot campuses.
