In 2016, both the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) and the Société de Biomécanique (SB, french speaking Society of Biomechanics) will celebrate their 40th anniversaries.

For this specific event, the European Society for Biomaterials, the International Society of Biomechanics, the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports, and the International Research Council on Biomechanics of Injury (IRCOBI) co-organize specific tracks.
