S M Perren Award – announcement

Dear Subscriber

I would like to announce that the submission phase for the S.M. Perren Research Award is now open.
This award is for a winning research paper to be published in the J Biomechanics based on original and previously unpublished research.
Contesting papers should fully conform to a format required for the Journal of Biomechanics.
The award is open to all areas of biomechanics research and to both members and non-members. To gauge the scope, the content and the suitability of your idea please visit the ESB web pages and view past winning articles: http://esbiomech.org?page_id=333
The winner (first author of the article) will be required to give a presentation in our next ESB congress in Boston (S.M. Perren Award Lecture)
The prize for this award includes a honorarium of 10,000 Swiss francs (approx. €6,000) sponsored by the AO Foundation in Davos, Switzerland, and a certificate which is presented after the S.M. Perren Award Lecture at ESB Congress.
Papers in consideration for the S.M. Perren Research Award should be submitted directly to the J.Biomechanics submission portal (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-biomechanics/) and should be flagged against Choose Article Type: S M Perren– ESB award article
Deadline for submission of manuscripts is: February 15th 2014.
The reviewing process will be completed at least 2 months in advance of the ESB congress (July 6 – 11, 2014, Boston, USA) and the winner will be notified by May 15th.

Dr Peter Zioupos,
Chair of the ESB Awards committee
