ESB Congresses
The council would like to thank the organisers of ESBiomech Milan21 to have delivered the first Online ESB meeting. The meeting has been a great success and gave us the opportunity to discuss scientific results and biomechanics impact after a long time! Thank you again to the local organisers who have done a tremendous job in overcoming the challenges of organizing an online meeting.
Call of bids for hosting ESBiomech2025
The ESB invites proposals for the organization of its annual congress in 2025. If you would like to host and organize the 2025 ESB congress and wish to prepare and submit a bid, please read the conference rules:

The deadline for bid submission (first step) to organize the ESB 2025 is 15 December 2021.
27th Congress of the ESB (ESBiomech2022) in Porto
The 27th ESB Congress will take place between 26 – 29 June 2022 in Porto, Portugal!
We are delighted to invite you for the 27th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics. Porto is an emerging city, with a unique mix of old and modern with a long tradition in biomechanics and focus on innovation and start-up initiatives.
The ESBiomech 2022 congress will combine traditional ESB sessions and activities with new ideas. The congress theme is “Biomechanics: Innovation, technology and societal impact” but contributions from all relevant biomechanics research fields will be included.
The following plenary speakers have confirmed their participation:
Ellen Kuhl with a lecture on Personalized modelling of Alzheimer’s disease;
Amir Zadpoor with a lecture on Meta-biomaterials;
Massimo Sartori with a lecture on Modelling the human neuromuscular system across spatio-temporal scales for a new class of movement enhancing technologies.
The submission for perspective talks is now open and the deadline is 30th November 2021. The call for abstracts will open in December 2021 and close on 31st January 2022. Stay tuned and check theESBiomech 2022 website for more details about the congress tracks andtopics: www.esbiomech2022.org.
The following awards will be acknowledged during ESBiomech 2022: Perren Research Award, Clinical Biomechanics Award, Best doctoral thesis Award, ESB student Award and ESB Travel Awards.
Student and mentoring activities will also represent an important part of the congress.
A number of cool networking opportunities are planned during the congress.

ESBiomech2023 – Save the dates
In 2023 the 28th Congress of ESB will be held in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The congress will take place at the MECC Convention Center, situated just outside the city center, from 9-12 July 2023. ESBiomech2023 will be jointly organized by three renowned universities in close proximity to each other: Eindhoven University of Technology, KU Leuven, and the University of Liege.
We are looking forward to welcome you to ESBiomech2023 in Maastricht!

In 2024 the 29th Congress of the ESB will be held in Edinburgh, UK. More details will be provided in future communications.
